Stephen Marley has just released his fifth solo album, One Take – Acoustic Jams. The title of the album refers to the style in which the album was recorded during a jam session at his home in Miami. The album features songs from Stephen Marley’s previous albums as well as acoustic renditions of some of his father’s classic songs. Featured musicians on the album include: Stephen Marley (lead guitar and percussion), Ranoy Gordon (Guitar), Javaughn Bond (bass), Craig Taylor (drum, percussion), and Nicholas Laraque (Saxophone, Flute).
This is Stephen Marley’s second acoustic album. In 2008, he released an acoustic version of his grammy winning debut album, Mind Control (released in 2007) which also won a Best Reggae album grammy in 2010. Overall, Stephen Marley is an eight-time grammy award winner.
One Take Acoustic Jams was released during Stephen Marley’s recent acoustic tour, An evening with Stephen Marley. The tour kicked off in Live Oak, FL on October 27, 2018. The stripped down acoustic tour spanning nearly 3 weeks featured intimate performances in seventeen cities. The tour also featured special guest, Mystic Marley on some of the tour dates. Earlier this year, Stephen Marley’s daughter, Mystic Marley debuted her first single, Beatdown.
A meet and greet fundraiser for the Ghetto Youth Foundation was held after the shows in NYC on 11/15 and DC on 11/17.
