2018 was a great year for Reggae artist Mikayla Simpson, better known to Reggae fans world-wide as Koffee. Great festival performances and a new video in support of her latest release were among the year’s highlights.
In January, the then seventeen year old Koffee made big waves when she performed alongside veteran artist Cocoa Tea at the 25th annual Rebel Salute.
She also received a tremendous response on the release of her second single, Raggamuffin produced by Frankie Music Productions.
Over the summer, Koffee once again was a special guest of Cocoa Tea during his set at Rototom in Spain. In a review of Cocoa Tea’s set at Rototom, Noah Schafer described the duo’s performance – “the biggest response came for his special guest, Koffee, the 18-year old Jamaican phenom who had also been a guest of Cocoa Tea’s segment during this year’s Rebel Salute. Her brief segment displayed her incredible lyrical dexterity, and indicated that the heavy amount of hype she’s receiving is deserved.” Read more Cocoa Tea and Koffee’s performance HERE.
In October, Koffee signed an agreement with Columbia Records UK and there are plans to release her debut EP. The latest single and video from Koffee is TOAST. Watch the official video below!
