‘In the Ghetto’ is a brand new video by Derrick Lara of the reggae trio the Tamlins, dedicated to all the ghetto youths that struggle every day.
In 1983 Lara joined the Tamlins, initially on recording sessions with Sly & Robbie. Through the years Lara has remained with the group, although all members pursued concurrent solo careers.
Prior to joining the Tamlins, Lara recorded many tunes with artistes such as Beres Hammond, Everton Blender, Anthony B and many other artistes, as well as endless background vocals. Derrick Lara’s solo career is being revamped and he released an album called ‘Reality’ last year. There is a new a album in the works and plans to tour as a solo artiste in the near future.
