On November, 23, 2022, The Recording Academy announced their nominees for the 64th Annual GRAMMYs Awards. The show will take place on April 3, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada (rescheduled from LA 1/31/22). The televised broadcast will be on the CBS Network beginning at 8PM ET.
The 64th GRAMMYs Awards includes recordings released between Sept. 1, 2020 — Sept. 30, 2021. This year there are 86 categories in total and in the category of Best Reggae Album, 6 albums are nominated this year. Congrats to all the nominees!

And the Nominees for Best Reggae Album are:
- Etana – Pamoja
This is Etana’s second nomination for Best Reggae Album. Etana’s previous album, Reggae Forever received a nomination in 2019. - Sean Paul – Live N Livin
This is Sean Paul’s 9th Grammy nomination. He won the Best Reggae Album category in 2004 for his album, Dutty Rock. Past nominations include Best Reggae Album (2004, 2010, 2013, 2015), Best New artist (2004), Best Male Rap Solo (2004), and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (with Sia in 2017). - Jesse Royal – Royal
This is Jesse Royal’s first nomination. - Gramps Morgan – Positive Vibration
This is Gramps Morgan’s first solo nomination. As part of Morgan Heritage, he won the Best Reggae Album category in 2016 for Strictly Roots and received a nomination for Avrakedabra in 2018. - Soja – Beauty in The Silence
Soja has previously received 2 nominations for Best Reggae Album (2015, 2017). - Spice – 10
This is Spice’s debut full length album and first-time grammy nominee.
Typically there are 5 nominees in the Best Reggae Album category. This is only the 7th time since the inception of the Reggae Grammy category in 1985, that the category has 6 nominees. The last time noted was in 2017. Of special significance this year is two female nominees. In 2019, Koffee made history as the first female to win the category with her debut EP, Rapture.
