Best of the Best Music Fest brought the best Caribbean experience to Miami Florida on Memorial Day weekend. While there is a welcome party as well as a day party surrounding the music festival, the highlight of the weekend is the Music Fest that takes place on Sunday annually.
Jabba, one of the most prominent voices of reggae and dancehall, was presented with a proclamation from Miami-Dade County. The annual show has a large turn out and has been a positive influence on the community the past 13 years.
There were several food vendors with a flavor from various Caribbean islands. There were also vendors where clothing, hats, jewelry and toys could be purchased. Many stopped to purchase flags to wave during the performances.

BLACC (Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition) is an initiative by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation to create a coalition of African American health advocates and cultural influencers who promote sexual responsibility and collectively help combat HIV/AIDS stigma in the African-American community. They had a station set up where concert goers could be tested for free. A cabin for the Love & Harmony Cruise was also raffled to those who took the time to get tested for AIDS while at Best of the Best.
A mix of phenomenal performances
Some of the top DJs from various cities were tasked with keeping the crowd entertained, and they did not disappoint. There was a mix of phenomenal performances from both soca and dancehall artists. The show opened with performances by Barbie Cash and Adventerous. Every Barbados Flag went up when Marzville hit the stage. The soca “Famalay” jumped and waved together as Skinny Fabulous performed his hits.

Shabba Ranks gave one of the most memorable performances of the night. The crowd went wild as he sang hits “Ting a Ling”, “Mr Loverman” and more. Shabba has not aged. He was in great shape and gave one of the most energetic performances of the evening.
