Best of the Best (BOTB) is known as Southern Florida’s premier all Caribbean Music festival taking place every Memorial Day Weekend – making it a perfect getaway to Miami to kick of the summer season of Reggae music events.
Just a few days before BOTB, the production team realized mother nature was not going to cooperate with the traditional outdoor venue setting.
Once the forecast of Alberto, the first named tropical storm of 2018 was confirmed, the quick thinking team switched gears and made plans to move the elaborate production indoors. This was not an easy feat to accomplish with such short notice; however, plans were set in motion and the event kicked off indoors at the nearby Mana Wynwood Convention Center.
Singers in Action
The 12th annual BOTB took place on Sunday, May 27, 2018. BOTB delivered as advertised a 100% Caribbean showcase of today’s hottest talent of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, and Afrobeat artists. Headliners for the 2018 festival included Reggae singers Romain Virgo, Christopher Martin, Richie Stephens, and longtime favorite artist Ghost delivering his most memorable hits for the ladies.

Dancehall in session
Jamaican artists Sheenseea and Hood Celebrityy represented well for the ladies of dancehall. Chances are if you were not familiar with rap / dancehall artist Hood Celebrityy before BOTB, you are now. Her hit song Walking Trophy has been steadily climbing the charts on urban radio stations.
Other dancehall favorites included strong headlining performances by Masicka and Aidonia. Both artists following up on their 2017 performances at BOTB.

Last year fans were disappointed that headliner Mavado did not perform as planned. No worries this year – The Gully Gad gave a full performance for the many Mavado fans in attendance.
This year, Capleton had the honors to close out the 12th annual Best of the Best with his usual energetic fyah man performance.
Give thanks to the BOTB media and production team for ensuring that the show must go on! The date for the 13th annual Best of the Best has been already been set for May 26, 2019 returning to the waterfront location of Bayfront Park in Miami, weather permitting of course!
