Two Celebrations of One Love with free live stream planned for Bob Marley's 70th Birthday in California. #Marley70
This year marks the 70th celebration of Bob Marley’s birthday on 2/6. While thousands of events are happening worldwide, two special major live music celebrations organized by the Global Call to Love Foundation will commemorate Bob Marley’s Birthday in Redway, CA and Santa Cruz, CA. Artists performing at the Global Call to Love celebrations include artists that are all One Love Ambassadors - Luciano, Harrison 'Professor Stafford' of Groundation, Prezident Brown, Sister Carol, Admiral Tibet, Kenyatta Hill of Culture, Reggae Angels, IKronik, and Indubious (Santa Cruz show only).
Both celebrations will be streamed live for free and archived as well for replay on the AGlobalCalltoLove.org website.
The Global Call to Love Foundation, LTD’s mission is to “Continue the works of the Late Honorable Robert Nesta Marley and his message of unconditional love – One Love – to an ever growing national and global audience”.
The celebrations are the vision of author and One Love Event organizer Robert Roskind aka Ras Kind who has organized over 200 One Love events, including over 50 events in Jamaica. Robert Roskind and his daughter Alicia will co-host the Bob Marley Birthday Celebration events.

The 2015 staging of the annual Rebel Salute will take place on January 16th - 17th at Plantation Cove in Priory, St. Ann, Jamaica. This is the third year that Rebel Salute will be held in St. Ann. An outstanding line-up of both well known and upcoming artists features nearly 60 performers over the course of two days. Sister Nancy, a popular female Dancehall DJ singer from Jamaica and well known for her classic Reggae Dancehall anthem Bam Bam is once again at the top of the Reggae charts. Bam Bam is currently featured in the soundtrack of the controversial movie, The Interview, a comedy about a fictitious assassination plot involving North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, which had a limited theater release on Christmas Day.
In 1982, Sister Nancy’s well known hit Bam Bam was released on her first studio album, One Two, for the Channel One label. The song has reached a new level of popularity with its inclusion in a Reebok commercial last year followed by The Interview Soundtrack this year. Bam Bam is now trending as the number one Reggae song on the iTunes Singles chart where it has been in the number one spot for at least a couple weeks. As of January 10, 2015, Sister Nancy’s album, One Two is number 10 on the iTunes Reggae Album Chart.

The 22nd Annual 9 Mile Music Festival will take place on Saturday, February 14th at the Miami Dade County Fair Grounds. A great mix of Reggae artists and bands representing several styles of Reggae are set to perform this year. The day long line-up includes Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Julian Marley, Jo Mersa Marley, SOJA, Capleton, The Green, Jesse Royal, Tanya Stephens, Iqulah Rastafari, Future Prez and more.
