This weekend in Florida –  The 33rd Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) on 10/4

The 33rd annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) returns to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts on October 4, 2014.  

 IRAWMA  celebrates  the accomplishments and contributions of Reggae and World Music artists including songwriters, performers, promoters, and musicians. 


This year’s gala will be hosted by the newly crowned Miss Universe Jamaica- 2014, Multi-Platinum Artist Kevin Lyttle and Popular  Radio DJ Rick Party.   Special performances will be a highlight of the show including Jamaican and internationally renowned artists:  Gyptian, Mykal “Grammy” Rose, Etana, Singing Melody, Freddie McGregor, Calypso Rose, Shatta Wale- Ghana, Willie Paul – Kenya, Top OneFrisson- Congo, Guero Loco- Reggaeton/Latin, and more special guests. 


Nearly 200 reggae and world music industry individuals, groups and others were nominated for their accomplishments and contribution. Expect to see many well known artists, industry executives and members of the media as presenters in over 40 categories of awards. 


The IRAWMA has been hosted in numerous locations since its inception in 1981.  Previous locations have included Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, New York, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and for the 2nd year in a row, it is being held in Southern Florida at the Coral Springs Performing Arts Center.
