Raging Fyah Grammys

In November of 2015, Raging Fyah,  the five-piece band from Kingston, Jamaica was signed to the new Dub Rockers label under the VP Records umbrella.   Band members Kumar Bent (lead singer), Courtland White (guitarist) Anthony Watson (drummer), Demar Gayle (keyboardist and musical director) and Delroy “Pele” Hamilton (bassist) continued to make significant strides in 2016.   In May they released their third studio album “Everlasting,”  which debuted at #2 on the billboard chart.  In support of their new album,  Raging Fyah toured extensively throughout the US and Europe with bands such as Stick Figure, Fortunate Youth and Protoje.

The year ended on an even higher note with the announcement of Raging Fyah’s  2017 US  Winter Tour with Tribal Seeds as well as a European Tour in the Spring with UB40.  Exciting news soon followed with a grammy nod for Best Reggae Album for  “Everlasting,”  their debut album with the Dub Rockers label.    While many people may consider them to be a new band that has seen rapid growth over the last two years,  in reality Raging Fyah has been working tirelessly for nearly a decade to earn these well deserved accolades.

Press Conference at VP Records

On December 15, 2016,  Raging Fyah members Kumar Bent and Demar Gayle hosted a joint press conference in New York with VP Records executives Richard Lue, Director of Business Development; Aaron Talbert, VP Sales and Marketing; and  Ted Ganung,  Dub Rockers Label Manager.  The band’s recent achievements were discussed  followed by an interactive discussion with members of the media.  Kumar and Demar then wrapped up the evening with an engaging acoustic performance of “Ready for Love” and “Dash Wata” from their grammy nominated album,  “Everlasting.”

The 59th Annual Grammys® will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 12, 2017 at 8 p.m. ET. on CBS.
